Initial difficulties during the Korsun Shevchenkovsky Operation found the 6th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade surrounded. As part of the new 6th Tank Army, 5th Guards were ordered into the breach.
Objectives: Supported by Reconnaissance and Tank Destroyer assets, your company will move west and secure the river crossing. Your platoon forms the right of the company battleline. Just north of you is a platoon of SU-85 Tank Destroyers. You are in excellent position to flank the enemy antitank positions sited east of the river crossing, but do not lose sight of your main goal; the objective must be taken.
